Alright Sharks fans, it’s time for our biggest announcement yet!
Former New Zealand Blackcaps opening bowler Hamish Bennett has pledged his allegiance to the Coolum Sharks for the upcoming summer. Bennett has represented the blackcaps on 31 occasions as well as a 17 year first class career with both Canterbury and Wellington in NZ where he amassed almost 500 wickets.
His last international game with NZ came last September against Bangladesh, before retiring from professional cricket at the end of the summer.
Bennetts availability will be sporadic due to other commitments, such as the upcoming legends World Cup in India, where he will be representing NZ against the likes of Sachin Tendulkar & Brian Lara.
